NEXT UP: Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies

The transition from high school to college ain't easy. More often than not, high school pals go to different colleges. No longer are you tagging your old locker buddy or lunch room confidantes in new Facebook albums. Personalities change, priorities shift, and college comrades are crowned as "Shiny New Best Friends."

But, once in a while you'll get lucky and realize that you can grow apart from certain pals without growing apart from them. As I approach the end of my college career, I am fortunate that a few of my best friends are still people I know from home. Last weekend, I had the chance to visit one of those girls. What better way to celebrate a constant friendship than by baking a classic cookie? Together, we whipped up these Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies. Talk about a sweet way to celebrate a sweet friendship.

Whether you bake these for or with a close friend, I hope you can enjoy these cookies with someone who means a lot to you.

Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies
1/2 cup butter
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cup flour
24 Hershey's Kisses

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

2. Cream together the butter and peanut butter in a large bowl.

3. Add sugar, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla. Mix until well-blended.

4. Slowly add flour. Mix completely.

5. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and roll in white sugar.

6. Place cookie balls on baking sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until very lightly browned.

7. Once cookies are done baking, remove from oven and immediately press unwrapped kisses into the center of the still-hot cookies.

8. Let cool on a cooling rack.

Makes 24 cookies.

  2. These looks addicting. There's a reason I don't make these...haha. BUT now I totally want to!

Reminds me of one of the last Biggest Loser episodes when one of the contestants made these cookies and ate just one! ;)

    1. I haven't seen that episode! Let alone that show. But it doesn't sound like a feat I could accomplish. Pretty sure I ate 5 of these as soon as we made them.
